I like this location is open 24/7. Their book and nail polish sections are nice. It is easy to park.

I thought this was a grocery store. But it's a super center where you can get a little of everything but no real selection of any one thing. Being on vacation, all I wanted was some snacks. As far as chips goes, it was pretty much Frito-Lay, the store brand of Frito-Lay varieties, and Jay's. Plus there are not enough manned checkout lanes open. I am on vacation, I don't want to do work and scan my own stuff.

Awful service. On Friday night, the store was chronically understaffed. The self checkouts were clogged and ours barely worked. When I told the assistant manager, she blew me off and told me to talk to another manager. He blew me off as well. I've been going to meijer since I was a kid and this is BS. Further issues: south doors don't work. Carts everywhere. Can't find help in back. Looks like the manager is doing everything but manage the store.

Usually I am a Meijer supporter as I go to the Champaign and Bloomington, IL stores frequently but I had such a terrible customer service experience at the Michigan City, IN store that I feel the need to comment. As we visit Michigan City for relaxing weekends on the lake we stopped at Mejier for our weekend groceries. As I purchased a 22lb bag of ice at the cash register they informed me to pick it up at the ice machine at the front of the store. As we looked in the freezer all 22lb bags were gone & only 7lb bags remained. An employee near the ice machine informed me that I needed to go to the customer service desk and RETURN my 22lb bag and PURCHASE 3 7lb bags. As always the customer service desk was a complete nightmare. I asked a different employee if we could just take two 7 lb bags (basically throwing away $2.00 just so I could leave with ice I purchased) and they said no. Since it was about a 15 minute wait at the customer service desk I decided to eat the money spent on the 22lb bag and left. 1) They should not have sold the 22lb bag if they did not have it. 2) They should have let me just take a smaller back of ice and leave instead of returning an item for $4.00 to repurchase 3 items for the same amount. Terrible customer service. The end.

This is my families preferred place to shop. We really like Meijer stores. A nice selection, with the ethnic selection being a nice option. This store, especially the restrooms are beginning to look dated. They usually have free cookies by the bakery for the kids. That's thoughtful, and my young children love that! The service is usually really good. Compared to Wal-Marts checkout lines , Meijer has them beat hands down. The north side of the building across the street where the trees are, hold alot of litter. I just dont understand why they wouldnt want to clean that stuff up. Its pretty clear that a majority of the litter is from their customers using meijer bags and discarding meijer ads. All in all though, the service is good and the selection is good.

How I wish they had this Meijer back in Chicago. I'll just stock up before I get home. Mega-store with everything you will need. Food, home goods, electronics, garden supplies...get the idea? Good prices and a lot of great produce. The pharmacy is now up front and things are really cheap there as well. Our stock up place in the MC.

Broad selection throughout with reasonable prices. By FAR the best selection of vegetables and fruits in the area, and the freshest! Meats are good too but finding someone to serve you at the meat counter is difficult. Go to Jewel for the best and least expensive meat.

There are a few times on a business trip when it's just plain boring. That usually happens in the evening after the day's work has been completed, any social events have wrapped up, and your hosts are the lucky ones who get to go home to their family. My host and I went to the Shoreline last night for dinner and some really great microbrews. And after returning to the hotel, I decided to venture out and do a little retail browsing. Meier was one of the stops. And now that the new Super Walmart has opened up nearby, previous reviewers should note that Meier has probably moved farther back in the pack regarding any comparisons. I'm actually a Target man myself and to me Meier has more of an improved K-Mart feel than anything. At the same time, the people were friendly and helpful both when I bought an item and afterwards when I decided to return it. The store itself is huge, has a great selection of this and that, and has very competitive prices. It was also fun to wander around for awhile and consider the possibilities before I headed off elsewhere into the evening.

Typical Meijer. Kinda hard to screw this place up. Clean and well organized. Seems like Meijer Corperate has their act together on keeping stores in line!

I'm changing my review for Meijer because lately I've not been happy with the meat and deli. First thing is I'm still happy with the prices and Saturday specials. The meat however has been going bad quickly. Within a day to two days hamburger meat and steaks are already starting to turn brown. I typically buy my meat from the meat counter where it should be the freshest but that hasn't been the case lately. The problem with the deli is the lack of cleanliness. I had to ask the employee to wash the slicer because you couldn't see the blade through the left on cheese. It was disgusting. She had to use a tool like a paint scrapper to get the cheese off the blade and it took her nearly 20 minutes to completely clean it. Oh and the bathrooms are still filthy.

Like a previous reviewer said, Think Walmart but not sketchy and you don't feel super dirty. My only complaint is that management needs to talk to some of their works about their clothes selection. One to many kids in weirdo raver pants.

After living in Grand Rapids, Michigan, I am pretty loyal to Meijer, and I hate Wally world, so when we moved to a new town, we looked for the nearest Meijer to shop at. Unfortunately, when I go into this particular Meijer, the staff and customers alike just seem sad and slow. The shelves are often low on sale items, and on peak hours there is the constant dodging of staff trying to stock shelves, blocking aisles, not really caring that they are in the way, talking amongst themselves. The last time I had to stand outside the egg cooler for 5 minutes while the guy stocking the eggs inside the cooler slowly filled the rack. The exterior grounds, parking lot are dirty and littered with trash. The trash bins at the entrances are always full. I just don't like shopping here. I will drive farther to go to Stevensville, Mi for a clean, bright store with happy employees.
